Taking Responsibility. Shaping the Future.

 

With our first Klimawin BW Report, we show that sustainability is an integral part of how we operate at OWIS. Since signing Klimawin BW and joining the Zielgerade2030 initiative, we have been working systematically to save energy, reduce emissions, and strengthen the work environment for our employees—one of the key success factors of our company.

Our aspiration to realize forward-thinking ideas together is reflected not only in our products, but also in how we act as a company. Whether in climate protection, collaboration with our employees, or supporting young talent – we strive to create lasting impact.

Our progress in climate protection

  • 5% reduction in energy consumption since 2023
  • 12% reduction in Scope 1 emissions
  • 4.5% reduction in Scope 3 emissions
  • 100% green electricity in addition to our photovoltaic system

Most Scope 3 emissions are industry-related and stem from purchased goods such as aluminum. Still, we have identified additional levers, for example in employee mobility.

Our employees at the center

Our employees are one of the key success factors at OWIS. The results of our latest survey confirm this direction:

  • 94% employee satisfaction
  • 81% recommendation rate

Daily shopfloor meetings, semi-annual company assemblies and targeted training opportunities contribute to this. We will continue improving workplace quality, including the planned redesign of our cafeteria.

Supporting young talent – creating opportunities

A project especially close to our hearts is our partnership with the Nordic Paraski junior team, which we have supported as a mobility partner since 2025. For us, this is not only about logistics – it is about equal opportunities.

By helping cover transportation costs, for example, for the team bus, we enable young athletes to safely travel to training sessions and competitions. For us, this is a contribution to inclusion, development, and regional responsibility.

Moving Forward Together

The report shows that we have taken the first steps successfully. We are aware that sustainability is a continuous process. We continue to learn, refine our measures, and want to take responsibility together with our employees and partners at our Staufen location – step by step, with the ambition to drive meaningful change.
