Girls go for Hightech.

At Girls’ Day 2026, we showed our young visitors just how exciting high-tech can be. With their own mission, a checklist, and multiple stations, initial insights turned into a hands-on experience – along our entire value chain.

EXPERIENCE TECHNOLOGY. UNDERSTAND CONNECTIONS. DISCOVER THE FUTURE

At this year’s Girls’ Day – the career orientation day for girls – we focused on one clear mission: to inspire young people to explore technology and give them real insights into working at OWIS.

Start playfully. Discover with curiosity.
Right from the beginning, our visitors experienced a special highlight: our laser game. In a playful and practical way, we introduced the basics of optics – using a joystick, a target, and creating those first “aha” moments.

Understand processes. Experience how everything connects.
With curiosity and a spirit of discovery, the girls set out on a journey through our company – equipped with their own task and a checklist as their guide. Step by step, they moved through all departments – from sales to production, warehouse, and assembly, all the way to shipping – experiencing how a finished product is created from many individual steps.

Get hands-on. Be part of it.
As the day progressed, one thing became clear: hands-on experience makes the difference. The girls followed our processes, learned about workflows, and actively participated in warehouse operations, production, and assembly. This is where engagement peaked – and where the spark truly ignited.

Go for Hightech. Go OWIS.

For us, Girls’ Day is an important opportunity to open up new perspectives, break down barriers, and inspire young talent to consider technical careers. We especially want to encourage girls to follow their interests and explore new paths in the field of technology. For some, this day may have already laid the foundation for their future career.

A big thank you to all colleagues who made this day possible with great dedication, creative ideas, and enthusiasm.
